This policy describes cookies and related storage technologies used by famosix.com. Reading public content does not require a user account. Google and its partners set advertising cookies when ads are active, as explained below.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small files that a site can store in a browser to maintain a session, remember information or apply technical measures. Browser local storage is a separate technology that can also save preferences.
Public site
Browsing Home, Biographies and Rankings does not create an editorial session. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary cookies when its security or traffic-management systems require them. Famosix does not use these technical cookies for advertising.
The light or dark theme preference is stored in localStorage under the key theme. It is not a cookie and remains on the device until the user changes it or deletes the site data.
Analytics and contact form
Cloudflare Web Analytics measures performance and visits in aggregate. According to the provider’s documentation, this service does not use cookies or track an individual across sites.
The contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to prevent automated submissions. Turnstile processes technical signals and may use strictly necessary mechanisms to complete verification; it is not used for advertising.
Administrative area
Cloudflare Access and EmDash use authentication or session cookies only in the restricted administrative area. Those cookies are not necessary to read Famosix’s public content.
Advertising and Google cookies
Famosix works with Google AdSense to display ads. When ads are active, third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s previous visits to this website or other websites.
Google advertising cookies, including DoubleClick cookies, allow Google and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visits to Famosix and/or other websites.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings.
- You can also opt out of personalized-advertising cookies from other vendors at www.aboutads.info.
- More information: how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, personalized ads are shown only after consent is obtained through Google’s consent management platform.
Managing cookies in your browser
You can view, block or delete cookies and local storage in your browser’s privacy settings. Blocking strictly necessary mechanisms may prevent contact-form submissions or access to the administrative area, but public editorial content should remain readable.
