Jossmery Toledo is probably the only Peruvian who went from catching white-collar criminals at the PNP's Money Laundering Directorate to catching millions of followers on TikTok and Instagram. All because of a 15-second video uploaded on Christmas Eve 2019. Since then, the former sub-officer born on March 30, 1992 has not stopped making headlines: romantic controversies with footballers, a disciplinary process she called “sexist”, surgeries she denied and later confirmed, and in early 2026, her debut on an international reality show filmed in Miami. If her name comes up on the entertainment shows, it is best to sit down and pay attention, because there is always something.

Beginnings and early years: the girl who wanted to be a police officer
Jossmery did not come to the PNP by chance. Her father and her grandfather were part of the institution, so for her entering the Sub-Officers' School at 16 was almost a family tradition. From a young age she showed a double discipline few combine: the rigidity of police training and the consistency in the gym that years later would make her go viral across the country.
While working her shifts at the Money Laundering Directorate —one of the most specialized areas of the PNP, dedicated to fighting organized crime and money laundering— she was also studying Law at Universidad César Vallejo. She qualified as a lawyer in 2019, just as the country was beginning to learn of her existence. Few cases in local showbiz mix that combination: serving sub-officer, law student and budding fitness influencer, all at the same time.
Alongside that, she tried her hand at presenting. Between late 2018 and early 2019, she co-hosted the short news bulletin the PNP broadcast on its official Facebook account. Nobody knew it then, but she already had exactly the profile of what would come next.
In January 2020, with the disciplinary process already under way, Jossmery completed an additional step in her professional training: she formally registered with the bar as a lawyer, a procedure that outlets such as La República and Perú21 reported at the time. The registration confirmed that, besides graduating from university, she met the Bar Association's requirements to practise the profession, although to date there have been no reports of her litigating actively; her public activity is concentrated in media and social networks.

Professional career: the video that changed everything
On December 24, 2019, Jossmery Toledo uploaded a video to TikTok. One of those challenge clips that abound on the platform: she appeared dressed in the green PNP uniform and, with a transition, changed into a short, tight red dress. It lasted a few seconds. And it changed her life completely.
The video went viral within hours. Her Instagram followers multiplied by five in less than a month. The press reproduced it, the public had every kind of opinion, and the PNP's Inspectorate opened a disciplinary process for a “serious breach of the institution's regulations, specifically misuse of the uniform”. Jossmery did not keep quiet. She called the sanction “sexist” —because other police officers had made similar videos without consequences— and, before learning the verdict, requested voluntary discharge. Speaking to the Telemundo show “Al rojo vivo”, she summed it up bluntly: “Now I can travel, I can get tattoos, I can do whatever I feel like without anyone telling me I cannot do it”.
Her showbiz career moved fast from that moment. She starred in music videos for national artists, established herself as a fitness and lifestyle influencer, and started earning money from advertising on social media. In February 2022 she joined Esto es Guerra, the América TV competition reality show, where she became one of the most active contestants and struck up a close friendship with Rosángela Espinoza.
In early 2026 she made her most ambitious leap: she took part in “El Rancho de Destino”, an international reality show filmed in Miami. She arrived at the premiere in a limousine, thanked them for the opportunity, talked about Peruvian cuisine and within days was at the centre of one of the show's most talked-about moments by kissing Puerto Rican influencer Isander Pérez in front of all the contestants. “Wait, slowly. I am going to teach you how to kiss”, she told him. The internet reacted as you would expect.
Jossmery Toledo before and after: the debate about her surgeries
It was Magaly Medina who put the topic on the table. On her show she displayed comparative images showing obvious differences in Jossmery's physique. Toledo denied the operations at first, but later admitted having had a nose job. The rest of the speculation went without an official answer, although the photos circulate and the debate was never closed.
At Famosix we consider these decisions to be absolutely personal. What is notable is that Jossmery faced them publicly without trying to dodge the debate, something that requires fairly thick skin when the showbiz programmes give no quarter.
Personal life and scandals: the loudest chapters
This is where the story gets complicated. Quite a lot.
During the 2020 lockdown, Jossmery began a five-month romance with footballer Jean Deza. The relationship ended in a complaint for physical and psychological violence. That same year she suffered the leak of intimate videos, whose author, according to her complaint, was a former partner from the PNP.
The most publicized chapter came in 2023 when she was caught kissing footballer Paolo Hurtado in Cusco. The problem: Hurtado was married. The scandal led his wife, Rosa Fuentes, to start divorce proceedings. Jossmery ended up apologizing to her publicly: “I harmed her without knowing what was going on”, she said. Rumours also circulated about Ecuadorian defender Piero Hincapié of Bayer Leverkusen and about Christopher “Zancudito” Olivares, although none were formally confirmed.
In June 2025, Magaly TV's cameras caught her leaving a bowling alley in Miraflores with Kluiverth Aguilar, a footballer at Lommel SK in Belgium and 11 years younger than her. Jossmery's answer came via Instagram: “Life is better when they know nothing about you”. Classic.

Jossmery Toledo in 2026
The year started at full speed. In January 2026 she is taking part in “El Rancho de Destino”, a reality show produced in Miami by influencer “Destino Miami”. Her limousine entrance set the tone from the first episode: confident, charismatic, representing Peru with pride and never missing the chance to talk about the national cuisine. Within days she was already one of the show's most talked-about figures.
She still has no confirmed steady partner. She is still active on social media. And she is still a guarantee of ratings on any show that invites her. At 33, the former PNP sub-officer still has plenty to say.
Conclusion
Jossmery Toledo is a case of reinvention nobody planned and that turned out better than expected. A TikTok video took her out of the institution she grew up in, and that same platform turned her into a public figure with millions of followers. Not everything was easy —the romantic controversies, the leaks, the scandals— but she is still standing, with an international reality show under her arm and the press watching every step.
At Famosix we will keep an eye on her career. Exploring more biographies of Peruvian and Latin American showbiz figures is part of what we do here, because behind every viral there is always a story worth telling.
