Being born into a family with a high media profile puts you under the spotlight before you decide whether you want to be there. Samahara Lobatón knows that better than anyone. The daughter of Melissa Klug —the “Blanca de Chucuito”— and former footballer Abel Lobatón, she grew up in Lima with a camera pointed at her from childhood. At 16 she was already taking part in reality shows. At 18 she was a mother. At 23 she had been through two turbulent relationships, three children, legal complaints, entertainment shows and a red chair. If there is one thing you cannot deny Samahara Lobatón, it is that she lives everything fully and unfiltered. For better and for worse.

Beginnings and early years: growing up in the public eye

Samahara did not choose to be public. She simply was from a young age, because her mother —Melissa Klug— is one of the most recognizable figures in Peruvian showbiz. Her parents separated when she was little, and the relationship with her father Abel Lobatón was marked by distance. She said it herself on El Valor de la Verdad without beating around the bush: “I do not see him as a dad”. On that show she also acknowledged that the person who filled that role for years was Jefferson Farfán, her mother's former partner.

She studied Communication and Marketing at UPC and at Toulouse Lautrec, although she finished neither degree. At some point she considered studying child psychology in the United States, although that plan never came to fruition. What was clear from a young age is that cameras do not make her uncomfortable, and that she knows how to move in front of them with an ease few people learn.

Professional career: from reality shows to digital content

At 16 she debuted on television taking part in Combate, the ATV competition reality show. It was not a cameo: she became a recognizable figure on the show and consolidated her presence on screen. Later came Reinas del Show and La Casa de Magaly, adding screen time and thousands of followers on social media.

Alongside television, she built a career as an influencer on Instagram and TikTok, where she shares aspects of her motherhood, life routines and opinions about her surroundings. Her daughters Xianna and Ainara appear frequently in her posts and generate genuine engagement among her followers. In 2025 she took part in El Valor de la Verdad, where she answered 18 questions about her life and took home S/20,000. That is no small thing.

In early 2026 she entered the reality show La Granja VIP, where she competes for three months with no contact with the outside world. In her first elimination gala she was the contestant most voted for by the public, securing her place. There she opened up to Mark Vito about her motherhood and her relationship with Bryan Torres, revealing details that drew divided reactions on social media.

What does Samahara Lobatón do and how does she earn money?

Her income comes from several sources. The first is television shows and reality shows, which on top of fees give her visibility and an audience. The second is her activity as an influencer: advertising on Instagram and TikTok for fashion, beauty and lifestyle brands. She has also moved into being an entrepreneur: at 16 she launched her own clothing brand, Killa By Samahara, and in 2024 she presented Xixi Imports, a business dedicated to bringing fashion and beauty products —such as bags, accessories, footwear and make-up— to Peru from the United States. The third source of income is media exclusives: when her personal life makes news —and it makes a lot— the entertainment shows pay for her statements and interviews. On El Valor de la Verdad she also showed that she knows how to manage that media capital well: she turned up, answered frankly and left with the money.

Personal life: Youna, Bryan Torres and three children

Samahara's romantic history is probably the most closely followed part of her public life. And the most complicated.

Her first known relationship was with Youna —whose real name is Jonathan—, a barber who became popular on social media. In the middle of the 2020 lockdown, Samahara gave birth to her first daughter, Xianna. She was 18. The relationship had its ups and downs, with public friction and crossed child-support complaints —at one point Samahara asked on television “what do I do with S/400 for a baby?”— but over time the relationship between the two reached a balance. Today they are friends and co-parents who support each other, especially since Youna was diagnosed with leukaemia. Samahara took part in his charity raffles, travelled to the United States to be with him and supports him publicly on her live streams.

Her second relationship was with salsa singer Bryan Torres, from the group Barrio Fino. They were together three years, with recurring break-ups and reconciliations. They had two children together, including Ainara, born on October 21, 2024, in a natural birth where Torres cut the umbilical cord. But the relationship ended in the worst possible way: on December 1, 2025 a video captured a serious assault by Torres against Samahara. The footage was described by specialists as consistent with attempted femicide. Samahara's mother, Melissa Klug, filed a formal complaint against Torres. Samahara separated in December 2025 and publicly confirmed she was single in February 2026 during a live stream with Youna. Her reason for not having filed a complaint herself was direct: “My children deserve their dad and I am not going to be the one to blame for their dad being in prison”. A sentence that sparked debate, but that reflects a reality thousands of Peruvian women know very well.

Alongside all of that, Bryan Torres opened an additional legal front by trying to reduce the child support payment after seeing Samahara reunite with Youna in the United States. She responded with a claim for an increase in support before entering La Granja VIP.

Samahara Lobatón trivia

  • She became a mother at 18, during the 2020 lockdown, and took it on without drama: “I am a kid as they say, but a kid who pulled her trousers up properly”, she wrote before Xianna's birth.
  • Jefferson Farfán, the historic Peruvian striker and her mother's former partner, was the one who played the father-figure role during part of her childhood, something she acknowledged herself on El Valor de la Verdad.
  • She studied at two different institutions without finishing either: UPC and Toulouse Lautrec. At some point she considered going to study child psychology in the United States.
  • She won S/20,000 answering 18 questions on El Valor de la Verdad in August 2025, a show very few dare to do because of the exposure it involves.
  • Her former partner Youna has leukaemia. Samahara travelled to the United States to support him with his treatment and takes an active part in his fundraising campaigns, something many see as a gesture of maturity.
  • Despite the scandals, she was the contestant most voted for by the public in her first elimination gala on La Granja VIP (2026), which says a lot about her connection with the audience.

Samahara Lobatón in 2026

The year started off heavy. Separated from Bryan Torres since December 2025, with a support claim under way, publicly supporting Youna in his cancer treatment and taking part in La Granja VIP since March 2026. If anyone thought the scandal of the video would take her off the media map, they were wrong. The public kept her on the reality show and the entertainment programmes still have her on their radar.

At 24 she has three children, a media career under construction and a personal story that, without her necessarily having sought it, puts very real conversations on the table about early motherhood, partner violence and the cost of growing up in public.

Conclusion

Samahara Lobatón is much more than “Melissa Klug's daughter”, even if that headline has followed her since childhood. At 24 she already has a story of her own: a media career built from the age of 16, three children, two relationships that made the headlines and a screen presence the public keeps supporting even in the hardest moments. Not everything that has happened to her is easy to tell, and what is known is only what she has decided to show.

At Famosix we will keep following her career. Exploring more biographies of Peruvian and Latin American showbiz figures is what we do here, because behind every name on the front pages there is always a fuller story waiting to be told.
